Our Response to inquiries about how S2D is compliant for Pharmacy deliveries
Below is what we provide and in accordance with Health Canada Good Manufacturing Services:
- 1. Storage and Handling / Transportation / Packaging
- Ambient Temperature Delivery - We ensure that all prescriptions are within 15 to 25 degrees celsius and our drivers carry a "freezer" thermometer that indicates the lowest and highest temperature in the vehicle
- We also provide that information to our partners/clients as pictures are taken of these temperatures at the time of delivery. These pictures are time stamped and have geo-location information attached to ensure compliance.
- Prescriptions are kept in cooler bags to help control humidity and prevent packages to be exposed to direct sunlight
- Our policies maintain that all prescriptions be secured in the bags and vehicles are locked when the drivers leave the immediate vicinity of their vehicle i.e. making deliveries the patients
- All packages must include legible and intact labels and if the labels are tampered with, it is our policy to return the package to the Pharmacy
- Our policies also include taking pictures of the package at time of delivery as well as pictures of the House/Address number for tracking purposes in case of errors
- Our policies state that if there are any change to the condition / damage to the packages that are handed over from the Pharmacy must be reported and then the package returned to the pharmacy
- Signatures are obtained for all deliveries and are accessible to the pharmacies via our portal
- 4. Quality Assurance / Traceability / Risk Management
- Written procedures and records must be maintained for all distribution activities.
- Our portal allows full access to our clients to all their delivery information, pictures and signatures through our portal
- Patients and Pharmacy staff alike have access to up to the minute geo-location of their deliveries. our system can track exactly where the driver
- The prescriptions are only ever in the possession of the pharmacy, the driver or the patient (or designate) and can be tracked through our portal
- Any discrepancies, such as temperature excursions or damaged goods, are investigated and documented in communication with the pharmacy
- All corrective and preventive actions are communicated to the pharmacy to ensure that documentation is maintained on identified issues
- Training is provided for prescription handling and policy guidelines are followed. These are documented and filed with our company.
- All Complaint Handling and Recalls are managed by the pharmacy, as we are a common-carrier.
